Spending money

French car tragic!

At the moment the $aussie looks good against many currencies.
Some of you may remember that I ordered a front crossmember from derFrancose . (so far I have had confirmation of the order, but no delivery date - it could be a long pregnancy!)
The problem with my currency is that it has a long, slow upward climb and then plummets like a wounded duck.

So, my thoughts are to get some bits from the motherland.

I was thinking;

big bore liners/sleeves 1397 ( or above-can this be done?)
123 ignition kit (or similar)
late model dash/instrument cluster
GTL pinion and crown wheel. QUESTION Can I simply fit these internals to existing R5 (mark 1) 1289cc gearboxes?

This is my wish list, but I am open to suggestions as to what is worth doing to a Renault 4,5or 6. I'm looking to keep the cars looking original but having updated bits for safety and reliability.

All comments and suggestions gratefully accepted and considered. Funds are NOT unlimited, so smaller items to ship are probably more cost effective.

Start those suggestions please!

Regards,

David

Disc brakes come immediately to my mind (if you haven't fitted them yet), but they are rather heavy to ship...

Later model GTL hubs/discs/steering and drive shafts I have as new items already as part of my purchase of my Renault 6.

However, I have had a thought about tail/indicator lights for a fourgon. I will get some. Any recommended suppliers in the UK?

Does the fourgon carry any badging anywhere? -mine does not. Again, likely suppliers?

Regards,

David
