Our Time Has Come


May I propose the Quatrelle Party "The Quats" (Party colours formed from the last Renault 4 Paint Chart - with a dash of rust brown)

We are heading for Power!

Our roots are working class but Ian could lead us. Head to head with the main parties. Pro European... outside Europe.

We must target the Lib Dems to become Kingmakers in a Hung Parliament.

We will be all things to all R4 owners.

Victoria, can you add the glamour that we lack?

And the 'youth vote' - who can champion that? Plenty of choice for the 'grey vote' but ideas also welcome.

So....

What are our demands?

Clementine to become a Lady and Ian a Baronet to start the ball rolling.

Maybe produce new chassis and body parts in Longbridge?

Recognition of the R4 as the true Smart Car?

Rename the Euro - the Reno - but keep the Pound

The Stig to be revealed (Malcolm - Will you come clean now? ... may secure some extra votes from the petrolheads).

What would you like in our manifesto?

We can change the motoring landscape.

..And count me in - oh I am in already as a Bayonet aren't I?

From the lack of replies Mark, it may be that everyone else on the site will be voting Liberal Democrat Conservative or Labour.

Well what a bloody disaster that would be - The Lib Dems main job creating policy is to take off the road all cars produced before 1995 to create more automotive jobs.

Voting Conservative would be a disaster as well as they are proposing to scrap all cars with CC's less that 1400 to encourage gas guzzlers for more tax revenue on heavier use of petrol.

And finally voting Labour will be a bloody disaster as well as they are planning to scrap all 4 wheel cars to encourage the building of 3 wheel eco friendly Not-So- Smart cars

So voting any other way than for the Quartelle Party could be a sad day for all our enthusiastic Renault 4 chums hey Mark?

That should bring in some voters!!

Here are some more manifesto commitments

An extra Bank Holiday next year in September to Celebrate 50 Glorious years.

Then an extra day EVERY year. This is a fiscal neutral policy and I'm hoping to sign up 50 Business Leaders - none of whom must drive a R4 to counter claims of bias.

The extra day will be self funding. It is a 'reward on jobs' countering 'a tax on jobs'. Pensioners and 'Those Receiving Benefits' will be unaffected as will Students. However, those in work will be motivated and their productivity will increase.

Turn 'Busted Britain' into 'Boosted Britain!

Form an Alliance with owners of 2CVs (A very minority party).
This will get the farmers' vote in, especially if we campaign on Market Days - when 2cv owners stow their family pig in the back.

Remove VAT from lead additive. .... AND recyle the lead taken out of Unleaded Petrol and give it free to owners of cars over 20 years old.


Reinstate the Scrapage scheme - to all new cars sold within the past 2 years and retrain the motor industry to repair and promote the second hand market.


National 'Car' Service A Scheme for 16/17 year olds to encourage responsible car ownership. Convert redundant New Car Showrooms and Workshops into Training Acadamies.

Add Olive Oil to the 'Five a Day' Health Campaign - Tim, one for you!

I see none of our candidates failed to remove any of our Conservative cousins!!

Lets not be disheartened and we will regroup for the next election...which may well be in a few weeks time it seems to me

Predictions for the next Election anyone? - I'll make it easy - before or after the Quatrelle beccomes a Quinquagenarian?.
