thermal fan connection question...

Hi- I have recently purchased a 1984 F6 here in France- I have recently replaced the clutch and found upon remounting the radiator that the electric fan is not connected, nor do there appear to be any wires I can connect it to- would someone please tell me where it connects to? I can see the thermostatic switch and wiring in the radiator, but they go into the main loom.

Usually there is a doubble plug connecting the fan with ground and thermostat. Probably this is missing? You have to connect the fan with ground on the gearbox. The other wire goes to the thermostate and from there to positive pole from ignition.

thanks for the reply, I have found the double plug coming from the fan- I assume you are referring to the thermostat in the radiator? that has two wires coming from it that go straight into the main loom- thats why I was looking for some sort of return wire -
