i couldn't be bothered to replace the left hand outer driveshaft boot myself, so got the garage to do it....had a look after, and they have somehow bent the driveshaft casing just inboard of the hub so that it does not sit properly.... see

basically, just inboard of the hub, the driveshaft forms a sort of flange which rubs against the hub, and forms a crude "seal" to stop too much crap getting into the bearings....now, part of this flange is still the right shape, but part has been sort of pushed in, so that you can see into the hub bearings
do i go back to the garage and ask them to put it right (knowing that would be almost impossible now) or accept that the bearings will fail prematurely.....its a left hand drive 1967 850TL
