Throttle cable - easy to replace?

Hi

This is my first post!

I picked up a beautiful '85 RHD GTL a couple of weekends ago. She needs a bit of work but is mostly good. :)

However, I managed to break the throttle cable on the M1 - not so clever. :(

A new cable is on it's way, thanks to the lovely "Lifestyle Renault", as recommended here.

Is this an easy item to fix? I'm reasonably mechanically minded, but haven't much experience with cars.

Thanks

Pete

Congratulations on your excellent purchase!

I've no idea about how easy it is to fix, but others on the forum are sure to know. If it is too difficult, you are not far from Derek of Renospeed, a R4 specialist.

Good luck!

Easy job, carb end is 6mm nut, pedal end is a plastic clip a bit of a fiddle. The outer is held by a circlip at the carb end and pushed in to the bulkhead at the oter. Have a good look and it becomes obvious

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for the warm welcome and the fitting tips.

It was fairly straightforward in the end.
