I need to replace my throttle cable on my R4, it's very sticky and the carb end of the cable is badly frayed

Will this one from Franzose do the job ? 82054 shes a 956cc 1989..

I tried a derrailleur cable last year but still needed to file down the lead nipple at the pedal end to fit the plastic pivot bit - the cable pulled out of the remains of the lead nipple quite soon. Just something to consider ! Not great to be parked up with no throttle.

Ah yes later cars got plastic right angle bit forgot that
When I started on r4 repairs in the late 70s the pedal end had a metal clevis section that it fits to so derailleur fitted perfect
I'vegot loads of new old stock and cut one down
As even Renault supply a kit of parts
Also available on ebay BTW

Yes mine has the white plastic pivot bit. The cable is very worn at the carb end hence needing replacement

Anyone not wanting to buy online, Euro Car Parts are supposed to stock this general cable kit for some Renaults - their part number 647745261, though on ebay they sell it far cheaper than in the real-life shop (!? why?). Ebay for Euro Car Parts is under 'Eicher 92100383'. Looks to have the white plastic bit too.

mr-reno has found the cheapest on Ebay as above, but it is a 'used' kit so unsure if complete.

I must buy a kit before my Heath-Robinson wire-clamp setup fatigues ....
