Hi.
Just done the wheel bearings and was wondering if theres a factory torque setting for the 24mm nut on the end of the drive shaft, disc brake model.
Cheers.

Ade

Hi Ade, half a turn before it shears off!! Only joking  I generally use a 24mm socket with a breaker- bar. If you are able to tighten the nut, which should be of the nyloc variety, with the wheel on the ground, all the better, and then it's as tight as you dare.

Regards Brian.

I agree with Brian, unsure of spec but I had one come loose, then just tightened bl@@dy tight with a breaker bar & no problems after :D

EDIT: Haynes says 90lbft, but that sounds less tight than I did it up to so keep an eye on it if you tighten to spec.

Ade: you maybe should buy my Haynes manual that is still for sale on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264791608338

130Nm is the factory torque value. It is quite likely for the nut to come loose after some time, so it's a good idea to use thread locking compound or a new nylock nut - or both!

Thanks Gents
Hmmm i wasn't lose but it came undone with ease...P for plenty and loctite will be the order of the day.
