hello travelling to Denmark in a few weeks from northern spain ,I have a Renault 4tl and two dogs which would be best way to carry them in the car can I put back seats down etc and does anyone know the law for this ,ill be travelling through france etc on way would prefer to go back roads avoid motorways, will the 4tl make it that far was thinking of breaking journey into 4 days

Roof rack :)

Should be fine with the seats down. Friend of ours bout a 4L purely for the dogs and made a wooden base with sides to protect the doors and seats and for the dogs to squash up against (bracing for the corners). Just prepare for the smells along the way.

great thanks will finally making the journey in two weeks ,haven't had any more issues with over heating and heater works great know, what are the main things I should check before I set off will probably try to get into france on my first day ,a little worried the best route to take

Check the oil and water of course. But also take with you spare oil and coolant (5litres of each). Check tire pressures and make sure you have your jack and wheel wrench.

If I were you I would play it safe and come up via Perpignan and then cut across close to Toulouse and up the Massif Centrale. Once through there you can take a more leisurely route towards Belgium and Holland.

If you haven't got GPS, then get a good road map of France-easy to get lost on the back roads, like I did once! Also plenty of water for the dogs, but they'll probably sleep all the way.

thankyou, when I get up to massif which is the best way to get up into Belgium ? thankyou for all your help

Just head towards Orlean then Paris, you can't really avoid Paris without quite a big detour. Unless you plan it out meticulously beforehand and plot it into your GPS.
The roads on very quiet (until Paris) so it may be worth sticking to the autoroute on the way unless you plan a more scenic route.

yes will be taking a scenic route up going to stretch it into four days make a holiday of it ,trying to find a route planner that keeps me off the motorways ambling along the hills
