Uneven front tires clearance from fender

Hello all, first post!
The repainting is done on the recently acquired R4 van and it looks great
However, I've noticed (very late) that when loaded and when either going over speedbumps or turning the wheels to the right, the left tire is touching the front.
I was very surprised to see how different the clearances are when comparing the two attached photos...

Any ideas where to even start addressing this issue?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

The track looks wider than standard. Are there wheel spacers in there to convert from 3 studs to 4 studs? That would make the wheels move forward and backward on turning.

Are you sure you have the same type of suspension parts on each side? Suspension geometry changed slightly for the '69 model and if you have a different upper or lower wishbone or stub axle from one side to the other (ie if wrong secondhand spares used for a crash repair) it will throw it out, because caster and wheel postion will be different. Have you had a wheel alignment to check if caster etc are similar side to side?

Yep. there are spacers. What do you mean move forward and backward on turning? it only happens on right turns with the left tires, and it's visible when the wheels are straightened.

I believe they are the same on both sides but can't be sure. I'll try to take a photo of the underside.
Wheel alignment should be a good way to go for starters.
The van is 82' by the way.

Thanks again

Remove front anti-roll bar and measure front jacking point to ground distances, if they are equal to within 10mm fault lies in inner/outer wing alignment. If difference is greater, ride heights have to be set correctly.
