I have change head gasket. After change Engine was ok. In the morning when i start the engine i sawa leak. Like a milk in the oil filter...... What is this??
Mechanics they told me its due to water in the cylinder head. Other say its is cylnder head need to be measured with a certain machine. Other say its that new head gasket they didnt put in rightway.... Am in dilema cuz most mechanics dont know to do restorartion of Renault.
Help me. Thnx ol

It could either be the head gasket again or the liners could have been disturbed whilst the head was off?

Either way it's all got to be checked properly.

Oil turns milky when it's churned up with water - there are numerous reasons why this could have happened as realigning a cylinder head to an engine block is a precise operation and there is a very exact procedure to follow - The mechanic is correct; once the head is off the vehicle it is always wise to have a specialist company measure it for heat distortion and then skimmed flat again if out of alignment - following the correct sequence in releasing the head bolts from the centre outwards to prevent the head from becoming twisted is always very important - as is ensuring the head bolts are put back in their original position and re tightened sequentially in stages in the reverse order ( a good workshop manual will show the untightening:tightening pattern and the stage sequential and final torque ) The final tightening down should be performed after the engine has been run for several hours. If not followed all of these things could cause a failure with the new head gasket. - best of luck

There will still be water in the oil from the last failure. Try driving the car for a while to see if the water evaporates from the oil. Or change the oil again and see if the problem gets worse.

The same thing happened to me and turned out to be a crack in the cylinder head. Ideally the cylinder head would need to be removed and checked for cracks and skimmed.

Another car that had already had the cylinder head checked and skimmed still had a leak. For that car there was a problem with corrosion in the cylinder liner seals.

It is possible to check where the leak is by draining the oil, then pressurising the coolant system with a pump clamped to the radiator using the water bottle connection. Pressurise the cooling system and wait for the water to stop coming out. Then remove the waterpump to see the height of the water in the engine. The leak will be at that height which can help rule out liner seals.

Thnx all, i went to the workshop to reverse cylinder head. They do it perfect, i realise this new head gasket is not fit well. Mechanics said am supposed to buy another gasket which fit correctly with sleaves so there will be no more mixture of oil and water....
