Vacuum on the air filter problem.

Does anyone know of a way to prevent vacuum from happening in the air filter? It happened to me today, and I nearly got stuck on the road. I have a '79 R1123.

There should be a slight vacuum inside the air filter, as the manifold depression, caused by the movement of the cylinders will “suck” the air into the carburettor. If this is excessive it could be a blocked or dirty air filter.
