Hi there .
I am really struggling for information on my 1972 R4s fasa . The manual I have is almost useless and most info I get doesn't relate to my car . I am just going off my years of experience with motors but like most people I hate the thought of completing a job just to find it needs to be done again .
Ignition timing using the flywheel marks should be easy but NO my car seems to only have one marking on the bellhousing and one on the flywheel how can I adjust the tappets and ignition if I am not sure or just guessing . years ago of course it would be stick a screwdriver down the plug hole and feel for the piston rising . Bearing in mind my cars engine rotates anti clockwise as you look from the front of the car .
Plus I don't seem to be able to buy a work shop manual for it in English and the one I down loaded is not for this motor .
I know I will get there in the end but lack of info is frustrating .
Can anyone help with the timing mark situation please .

Hi. I think this could be useful..

Using a stroboscope lamp is quickly and more precisely, if you don't have one do by static

Thank you for that I'm sure it will help . The motor is devoid of valve cover , spark plugs and a couple of water pipes so I can't use a strobe light at the moment. From the picture it looks like either the marks lined up means TDC or that is the ideal timing .

Thanks again

Thank you so much I will translate these documents and read through them .
Excellent .
Yes, translating is one thing and luckely we have still the skills to translate as my French is a bit rusted.
I just remember the sentence "Papa fume un pipe et Mama fume Papa"... ;)
