Can you not get them from Renault still? Lifestyle Renault in Tumbridge Wells are good and can send parts in the post. Are you on a 3 speed box with the '71? Or was the funny 4 speed with the dogleg first available by then? Wouldn't be surprised if cables from other models fit.
