I was competing in the Saint Goueno Hillclimb Masters at the weekend and spied a few 4s...

This one was in the local Renault dealers just outside Saint-Goueno.

This one was languishing behind a garage and was full of rubbish.

This was in daily use - in Moncontour.

This one was at the Saint Goueno music festival, covered in silver foil and containing coloured spot lights. A bit sad really as some of the body panels were better than mine!

Glad to see someone else takes random photos too :D

I've even got my wife sending me pictures this week from France.

Hi Simon, are you going to start a Project thread about your Gordini conversion? Did you find it difficult tracking down an engine?
Best wishes,
Bob

Hi Bob , probably not , the engine came with the car but not in it ! Going programmable ignition , bike carbs, engine now rebuilt with ported head baffled sump and piper cam so around 125 bhp should be good in car that weighs 600 kg.I have couple of other interesting finished specials. NSU tt with Lotus chassis with 2.0 xe red top mid engined built 20 years ago and a Caterham hayabusa I built 6 years ago ,both great cars to drive.Regards Simon.

Very interesting. I love NSUs - in fact most rear engined cars. Can you post a pic or link to it? There were some nice SImcas at Saint Goueno.
With 125 bhp I would imagine you'd have to look at brakes and suspension? I was reading something on the web (in Spanish) about a 4L circuit racer somewhere in South America and it mentioned upright rear coilovers but I haven't been able to find it again and did not bookmark it.
Cheers
Bob

Hi Bob putting on R5 Gordini discs and calipers and uprated suspension all round and lowered with decent rubber all round.Regards Simon.
