Water Temperature Gauge - 688 engine

I am looking at fitting a water temperature gauge to my 1108 engine.
The take off point for this engine is totally different to the 845. It looks as if the solution of an adapter and NPT sender is not feasible here.

Would appreciate comments / directions please.

I have tapper thread on one plug on waterpump looking toward radiator. I beleive there is one plug on top of the waterpump that is free.

Have located a Quinton Hazell waterpump, off Ebay, that has a tapping for adapter & sender. Very good price too.

Hi Tomcat, also the VALEO waterpump I installed on my 956 has the holes for the adapter and the sender.
I'll take a picture once I come home, if you're interested.
