Hi all. Cleaned the car when it came back from welding..... bloody expensive this welding lark. Anyway, the chap doing found three of these and I wondered if they are something to do with the car. Any help gratefully received. They are wrecked, cracked perished rubber, but I wanted to know what they are, as you do !IMG_5534.jpg

Are they R4? There are some lengths of flat metal welded to the underside of the boot floor on early cars. Bits or rubber like that go over them to provide a cushion for the spare tyre.

well,,, there you go. I knew somebody would know. I will look under the car and see what I can find. They did a cleanup under there together with the welding and a treatment similar to your chassis, though not as total, given the cost of the welding part. I only did the main flat underneath part. I will tackle other parts in due course, because they are more accessible. I can see what you mean about those rubbers so thank you very much for that info.
