I know I am as old as the first Renault 4 to roll off the line and not too wise with my pc knowlage but when I click the forums it says Total: 52 (members: 4, guests: 36, robots: 12) ??????????????
What on earth is a robot ?? Coz there are 12 of them on here !

think of it as a computer looking at the forum, not a person. Can't remember what they do but they were for something 'internet' important.

Search engines (like Google) use these robots (which are just computer programs running on powerful computers) to build up their databases, which can then be searched. The robots are constantly looking at every page on the internet, so when you use a search engine to search for a word, the search engine knows where that word is on the internet and can take you there.
