Whats the differences between the Tl and Gtl please?

I was just wondering if someone could clarify the differences between the two?

As fas as I can see there are the bumper overriders and the side protection panels, are there differences mechanically too?

The TL has a 956cc engine - also there are no door pockets. Personally I prefer the look of the R4 without side rubbers.

Well as much as I know all TL's over here have 850cc engines and different gearboxes.

Depends a lot on which TL it is. I've got a TL with an 1108cc engine, though they could have come with just about any depending on the year and country of manufacture.

They were the luxury spec when everyone was driving around in 4Ls in the '70s, then in the 80s they were the base spec after everyone had bought GTLs.

Well my TLs a 1984, not a 1979 as advertised in the advert! Having searched through older posts last night I found more information such as the hard headlining and the smaller engines! I will have to get the engine number off the block and then find out what size its supposed to be!
