Hey guys,
i just signed up for the forum wich i hope it will be a great way to share knowledge and progress on our beloved mean machines.
well, anyway, this morning some ruthless car robber broke into my Renault 4 to steal the "Oil measure rod", i don´t know the name for it in english... it´s the rod where you can check the engine oil. it´s a long flat metallic part with a plastic ring to grip on...
they use it to break into other peoples cars...
but the main questions is, and the technical theme: While i look for a spare, leaving the oil "tube", where the rod rests, opened damages de that? as in does the oil leak out?
i am not a great engineer or mechanic as you can see... but i really want to preserve this car, it was my parents first car and they gave it to me.
Greetings from Portugal.
Btw, i don´t know if this thread is correctly located, sorry in advance if it´s not.
best regards
Filipe
