Which bits for a 953cc engine

Morning All - on my 1989 R4 953cc which service bits do I need.. looking at http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/ does my car come under the 1.0 (34hp) bracket ?

I need to get new plugs, air filter, disi cap, points and leads, belts and want to start using Mister Auto to help save money on postage.

Richard, The 1108cc GTL engine is rated as 34bhp. Therefore I would suggest (1) yours is the '4' and (2) telephone and ask. You will probably, as I did last week, speak to a chap in France although I'm told there is a UK depot.

As I've mentioned here before, my R4GTL service parts, discs and pads were fine, arrived promptly and were reasonably priced. It all went pear shaped when I order discs and pads for our BMW118d when the local garage found they wouldn't fit. This has still to be resolved so will require yet another phone call or email as they've gone all quiet.

There is no difference in what parts to buy between a 956cc and a 1108cc engine. The thing you need to be carefull with is what type of dizzy you have and order the right parts for it.
Renault worked with pallet parts in the factory. So parts from the gtl got on the TL and the other way around.
Hp is the same in both the TL and GTL. Only difference is the rpm to reach that number

Thanks mate, so assume the spark plugs etc are the same as the 1108cc engine then as I can't find any online for my 956cc

Yes you can use plugs and oil filter that fit the 1108cc

Several designs of air filter's so check dimensions b4 ordering
UK suppliers don't list 956 r4 or any thing past 86 as not sold here

Plugs all sorted and located correct air filter on eBay
Tightened the belts and all good
