to turn it All-around.. Here 's Your chance to rave about Yours
for-let chalet or shack somewhere in France for this coming (hopefully)summer of -09.
Us-that's my better half (sane) plus the Roffmobile and I.
haven't made Exact plans as to when (or where)yet, but say somewhere round Jooone/Julyy or thereabouts..
I'm only sessing out the possibilities here..
In normal R4-way we don't have any BIG demands.Roof over our heads ,running water, shower Plus lots o'laughs in the evening...
A nice big untidy wreck-yard somewhere nearby is Always a good thing!
Looking for a 'base-camp' to go roaming round the country-side Doing usual silly touristicy-stuff like watching rural green paint dry etc.. As long as you can promise sun
and general usual nice Frenchy welcome.. (I'll do my best to get wife to behave!)
C'mon lets hear what you have up Your sleeve!!
alt. send a privee message to: -R.

You are very welcome to stay at our gîte in Southern Burgundy for a week or with us if it's just a day or two. www.cormatin.eu I don't know about the scrapyards though. Depends if you are coming straight down South or if you are veering off in a westerly direction to the Vendée which seems very popular with R4 owners.

Bonsoir Bluebell. Thanx Much for the friendly offer to rent!
-Had a look at your site-looks Lovely! so you are most Definately in the picture..
-funny thing..we must have passed near you when on way to Fere-Champenoise where I had this Totally Worthless guy work on our Alpine ,but that's another story!
(So far Bluebell seems to be the ONLY ones with chalet for rent in whole of France-or maybe the one tough enough for a Viking and his Roffmobile....) We never have ironclad plans for where to go
-if I see a 2CV I will chase him and we might end up somewhere nice.

Only 'kinda' set plan so far is to reclaim Burgundy as a Viking stronghold
to get a toe in the EC where wine is so much cheaper. -R.

You must have got a bit lost then if you came near us on the way to Fere-Champenoise from Oslo. We're about half way between Dijon and Lyon. Burgundy wines are the best, also the local 'champagne'.

Bluebell! -I always make sure I'm Lost when on vacation-found this to be the best plan to see new unknown places...
GPS only want to send me straight from A to B which is no fun at all!
my 2.nd F4 came from Dijon-originally owned by nuns up there..
guess it was blessed since it ran with no mishaps all the way home
unfortunately holy water had made it rust beyond savoiur,so will end up a true follower (trailer) for Roffen.
Not sure about the Burgundy wines...but I am always willing to let you convince me otherwise by endless trial and error c",)
Took the scenic Champagne route 2yr's ago -Very nice scenery-a
trip every 4-owner should do at least once in life. -R.

Anyone seen Sir Stanbury around these parts?

Haven't seen hide nor hair for a few days.

This is a superb site with absolutely all the info/maps needed for touring/exploring and getting lost in Burgundy.

Sunny Burgundy Tour

I've spent some time on this site and plotted the tourist sites (28+) described and they are all accessible from the A6 road which runs south-east from Auxerre to Beaune and then southwards to Macon. The majority of sites are in two clusters. A touring base near Avallon brings two thirds of the sites (20) within reach and the second cluster suggests an ideal base at/near Cormatin giving close proximity to the remaining listed(8) sites. Not sure about the viking longboat access  - was no problem in Normandy/Paris  - Reidar will have to sneek his depth sounding/survey gear in Roffen or perhaps recruit Bleubelle et Claude to do some joint nocturnal 'lead swinging' ;) - best not warn/alarm the locals.:smile:

Yes, I can see Cormatin chateau out of my window at the moment. This picture was taken five minutes ago. It's going to be another cloudless day.

..Ah but..

..If I am not mistaken, this fab site is a fab Renault 4 site and if you look at my photos, I always feature a................ Renault 4 image

However a repeat photo of Cormatin Chateau would be acceptable IF IT HAD YOUR RENAULT 4 PARKED IN FRONT OF IT!!
