I have the chance to buy sime rims which are described as R4/R5 Laureate, will these fit my 1987 R4 GTL?

Many thanks

John

I have those jante on my quatrelle, they fit well and look even better.

The "5" ones are just a bit larger tha the gtl ones, so the 145 tire is "stretched" and the front-left wheel occasionally rubs on a silent block...

Thanks for the quick reply

Many thanks for the quick returns. My current rims are bad and will not hold air so have tubes. The car is in Portugal so I have got away with it so far but the tubes have punctures (usual rib problem) often and I am a favoured customer of the local fix and go!!!

Cheers

John

Even those wheels needs inner tubes (as I was told in the shop)...

I don't have tubes on any of mine.

Bear in mind that there are two types of this wheel. The standard R5 Laureate (Le Car 2) used the thinner version of the design and standard tyre fitment would be a 145 which fits without any problem.

The wider version is the same style just wider and was fitted as standard on the Laureate Turbo (Le Car 2 Turbo) some 5 Alpines and TS models and needs will fit a 165 / 175 tyre but you might get issues with that rubbing on an R4.

So the normal laureate has the same wheels of the clan?
Mine were from a r6, but I do not know if they where robbed from other car previously... I can use only 145 tires on them because italian laws are restrictive. On my documents there's written I can run with either 135R13or 145R14...
In the shop they had no problem fitting tires, just had to use inner tubes because, they said, the wheel was old and not suitable for tubeless... I am not able to judge by myself...
