Window seals.

Ok fellow users, what are we using to seal in side window frames into doors. There was some sticky type tape, which had dried and had to be scraped off. I have some double glazing tape, small rubber profile with adhesive backing, but it is possibly a little thick. Anyone got any ideas?

I did not use anything - mine also had some sticky tape but when I asked the Door seal guy at the shop they said not to use anything.

I am working on the fact that if water does ingress into the frame it needs to get out somehow so having sticky tape in there may impede this.

Official method was gun-applied seam sealer. It should be injected in the gap between window frame and door, after the frames have been fitted.
You will notice three rounded depressions on the door, where the bottom edge of the frame fits. These are for draining water that eventually gets in the window frame and they should be left unsealed.

The above go for pre-1981 metal window frames, later plastic ones do not need any sealing if you are using the original window channel.
