Windscreen washer hand pump

Hi all

I see you can buy a hand pump through Franzose and it is also listed on ECAS for 2CV's. It looks like Franzose only specify it for the rear engined R4. Does anyone know why? Would this replacement unit not fit a 1972 model? Am tempted to buy the one from ECAS and try...

I binned mine on advice from members on the site as they said they are pretty poor for the delivery of water to the screen and fitted and electric motor on a flip switch but kept the original water bottle. It depends how much you want to stick to originality. I like to when practical but for safety sake I chose to go with a quick delivery.
I was told however the 2CV pump is the same fitting

Useful to know the 2CV part fits. I'm running the R4 squirter in the MG too, but don't have spares and was worried about where the next one would come from. On the MG the hole is smaller and I needed to use a couple of washers to mount the pump. Let us know if it fits.
