Hi all I am looking for advice about what cover would fit a R4F4 van for overwintering please ?
As my undercover options have disappeared this year and I have a MASSIVE leak from somewhere in the front which leaves 2 inches !!! of water in the footwell from any heavy rain , I am super desperate for quick solutions until I figure out a permanent fix.
I bought a cheap, generic estate car cover however it is baggy fitting and flies off at any given chance which is often in our West Country winds
Anyone with any info would be gratefully received .

Thanks
K

Hi

I have a Hamilton Classics cover designed to fit my R4F4. It is breathable, has a fleece inner lining to protect the bodywork and it is loose fitting which is important to ensure airflow with underbody straps to secure in place. It has lasted four winters and still going strong.

as jcarruthers2 says;
- Most important that the cover doesnt lay flat onto roof/sides front and rear.Also if at all poss.let windows have a few cm-opening to avoid mould to build up inside Also open went-flap.keep an eye on the interiour as if mould has sat its very difficult to get rid og that moldy smell..
-I got a very large silvery/grey "waffely-surfaced" 3-layered breathing cover meant for a large barge (camper-van) Standard type so often on sale at Halfords-type
shops gave £ 70 for it and just took some basic measurements Left-side silouette/R side then measure "width" of rear/roof/bonnet/grill -Cut that out in one piece.
Also "tuned to fit " the whole thing so I now have a nice zippered opening for easy access/opening of drivers door..If you have a roof-rack Do mount it for better
air-circulation PS: rememer to take this into account b4 getting your Cal45-scissors out! If you've got carpets of sorts -take them out of car to keep moisture at a
minimum between carpets/floor -Dont let the tarp drag the ground-let air circulate freely under!
-Oh and Last tip: be Sure to mark your new cover with your reg.no Front & Back which makes it a less desirable loot for some lowlife thiefs.

PS: The cover was large enough so that IF I've had a bicycle or two -I'd had stuff over to cover bikes too -But I don't -so won't - and I didn't c",) -Reid
