Blue GTL (was on ebay)

Hi Mike. Not me!
Seems a bargain - current mot and apart from handbrake can be moved without a trailer.
Perhaps Malcolm's price guide is a little ambitious in the recession? Or will publicity surrounding the 50th bolster price?

I dunno who won it, but I'd forgotten about it being on my watched list and at just gone midnight, I got an alert on my iphone which woke me up!

Who would be silly enough to finish an auction at 01:52 in the morning? It really doesn't help to get good prices at auction when you finish something at a time when no one is awake!

I agree this one looks a good little buy but we know it needs a rear wing brake work and a wheel bearing plus painting new wing and bonnet without looking at any of the rust prone areas.

I think this car fits well with Malcolm's price guide section 2 which is £400 -£1500 and it sold for £467 having previously been £680.

We need to find out from the new owner what had to be done for the MOT and how much to repair the cosmetics to get a better understanding of the car.
We all know about the stunning yellow one with the serious chassis rot and the price that made.

Derek has also told me of mint looking cars with serious underbody rot.

Thanks Gary

Yes , Derek is a great reference point - he sees a wide cross section of the market and knows true value based on labour and availability of parts. Mine is in the 5th band - fits tha description and I mulled over value with Derek last week for an 'agreed insurance value'.
That said when you add up the sheer enjoyment and practicality I'd need a very tempting offer! After Thenay!
Don't think any of us bought as an investment but it helps to see a little appreciation!

Just to let you know that the new owner of the yellow one is having it repaired as the garage doing the work have bought two repair sections from me. At least it's another one saved to live on for a few more years.

Yeah, I bought my R4 last year for a £600
http://www.renault4.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=3602

good runner, but need lot of body welding also found some problem with reverse gear, car is not moving reverse if my front wheels are not strike, strange- cant normal parking at all.

I think, If I would like to sell right now, perhaps price would be only half of my buying price (about £300) it is good time for buy.
