*SOLD* 1984 Yellow R4 GTL

My father-in-law has to part with his loyal Renault 4 GTL. As he has not yet progressed to being online I am advertising the car on his behalf.

So here goes…

He has owned the car from new so has all the history. It was first registered on 25 January 1984. It is still used and has a valid MoT. Mileage is 55,990.

Images are attached so you can see the condition. On the whole it is very good, all original except for nearside mirror. There is a small dent in the bonnet and the bumpers, originally a matt grey finish are now a little odd. There is a minor rust spot on the offside sill, all other rust has been repaired as it appeared. It has been regularly serviced and garaged all it's life.

The car is in Yeovil, Somerset and can be viewed by appointment. Offers of around £2500.

Very good car; I notice that, even if the maintenance in your northern climate is more challenging and and there are less r4 still running, prices are lower than here... Very odd.
I like that color, and I would be tempted if it was nearer and with the steering wheel on the correct side... She has even headrests!

How does the bonnet insulation work?

I'm interested in the insulation too. Is that some on the bulkhead in the last photo? I wonder how much it helps with soundproofing.

Insulation

I am not sure where he got the insulation, but I feel sure it was a ready made kit, a long time ago. It is intended to act as a sound insulation, indeed we had some on one of this previous R4s back in the seventies. It does make a small difference to the noise but 'not a lot'!

Yes it is, if you drive in the wrong direction...
It's a matter of habit!
