It's not really a Renault 4, but it's the sort of thing you can run, abuse, and enjoy like you did with Renault 4s 10 years ago.

This is a 1994 Campus Prima 1.4L injection with MOT and tax until March 2014. It has covered 70,000 miles, was been well maintained by old people before I got hold of it, and shouldn't need any new bits this year as I had been expecting to run it at least through to the next MOT.

It's faults are rust under the windscreen which lets in some water, a little rust at the front of the sill that the MOT guy didn't even mention, a screech at idle and low throttle from an air leak in the EGR valve (I tell people it's the turbo :D), and worn seat fabric which has been disguised by boy racer seat covers, and some matt paint on the LHS rear panel where someone has had a go with a spray can.

I'm after £450. if anyone on the forum wants it. Otherwise it'll go eBay. I'm based close to the A421 (Bedford) Junction on the A1. Can do £350 if I can keep the tax disc.

Evening

I'd love to drive a renault 4l for a romantic road trip around france this July but struggling to find something low budget.

So perhaps this is the car for me, what do you think?

Thanks

Liane

Definitely :D It was in Paris a couple of weeks ago and still has the headlamp beam deflectors fitted. You should be able to eBay it for about the same price when you get back.

The R5 keeps flying through MOTs and the current MOT and tax expire March 2015. I'm planning to replace it with a R4 van now. So still up for grabs if anyone wants it.

Absolutely and rightly so! Passed a R5 on the M11 on the way down to Stansted this morning and it looked brilliant on the road. It was a 1.4 and was only doing 60mph. This one is good for over a ton.

Didn't pass any R5s on the way home this evening after a spending day at the airport while the flight was delayed and then cancelled by lazy striking cheese eating traffic control monkeys, which goes to show what a rare and desirable and surprisingly cheap R5 this is. The trip was to pick up the R4 van that will replace the R5. The R5 will finally be on eBay in a month or so unless anyone makes me an offer on here.

I already have a Renault 5 ;)

I was amazed how economical the Monaco was on the trip down to Kent, I was getting over 45 to the gallon!!! It drove brilliantly and is such a cool car I'm taking it to France this summer instead of my 4l which I was originally planning to do.

We're going to take the camper out next year so want a car to be able to run around in whilst we there!
