Bust-up For Bertie

Well today hasn't been a good day. The Rapture may not have swept over the face of the Earth like some believed but let me tell you, it surely ran through Aberdeen last night. Five garages and two vans were broken last night. Bertie The Miracle Whip being one of them.

Someone/some-people decided that they rather liked the look of a few items in the back of the car. Namely the tool box (yes, I will never make that mistake again) and another box which contained nothing but old engine oil, some screen-wash, rocks and a small plastic figure of Bumblebee from Transformers. Why the thieves decided they wanted these things I will never know but they took them nevertheless.

They didn't do any damage to be fair to them. Even took the glass with them. Popped the whole window off rather than smashing the glass. Just left me with a rather big whole now. Autoglass want £75 which isn't too bad I suppose as they will need to get the rubber seal too as that has also gone. Bobble, however, has offered to do the work instead.

The Fuzz didn't find anything when the came to have a look. They people who did this had gloves.

Some nice chap gave me some tarpaulin to cover the back up with though, and with a little clingfilm we managed to make her water tight.

Don't worry! We will still make that ferry to Thenay!!

Poor Bertie, never mind soon have him fixed up, i hope to be up within a couple of weeks and i'll bring him back to join the flock.
Who knows why they do these mindless things, it was'nt as if it was a snap on tool box either, so beware anyone offering you a R4 F4 rear window now ?

Very sorry to hear about Bertie's break in - if you have any problems with Autoglass, I have a rear glass you can have - just cover the postage (from France). Thought Aberdeen was a nice place !! Regards Simon

Thanks for all of your sympathies guys. It is a shame that the minority ruin it for the majority. Have had a fair bit of friendly interest in the R4 up here. Shame some people didn't share the same enthusiasm.

Although they didn't take my home-made iPod dock or the quality cassette player. I wonder why...

theres idle idiots all over-better be thankful they didn't ruin your entire car! I had a break-in in one of my cars years ago -and for what? a set of Ching-Chong tools costing £9.99 What the h*** do they learn in jail these days ??? Get on with it/-R.

Sorry to see this although at least they didn't do any significant damage in getting in which is something I suppose. Wonder why they took the window though?
