Door straps

Hi all. The door strap on my drives door has snapped as it arrives at the fixing plate on the door. I have two rubber replacements. One has screws, but the strap is a lot shorter and the other has bolts. as the net end of the bolt is within a closed volume in the door and the frame, I can't get at it . Plus when I undo the bolts/screws from outside the plate inside will drop down into the closed void and add to the rattles. Any ideas ?IMG_1903.jpegIMG_1904.jpegIMG_1905.jpeg

Hi The strap look very similar to the axle check straps found on series land rovers. Go on ebay and type in series land rover check straps and load come up.

Alternative is a modification with small gas spring so that the door remains open.

Short straps with diagonally placed screw holes are used on the rear doors.
Front door straps are attached to the body side with M4 nuts on studs on the A-pillar (be very careful not to snap them off), and on door with M4 screws. If the threads on the door are stripped it's OK to use sheet metal screws - much easier than trying to thread nuts from the back side. In both case, the strap is sandwiched between these metal plates, so there is no part to be dropped inside the door.

Thanks angel. I have looked at this. The nuts appear to be inside the doorframe tube A post and therefore i can't get to them. Likewise the fixing at the door. The rear is enclosed so how do I get the nut on the back of the bolt. Unless I am missing something, which of course is entirely possible.
