Hola!

Sarah I read your PM first so look there I have sent you a reply.

I live in mainland Spain and Louis, my R4, needs a new clutch badly. I've asked the local motor factor and he came up with a price of EUR 156.00 plus tax! Just for the parts.

I've just looked on Google and found a clutch kit for £45 +VAT here. I've got to go to England this weekend so I think I'll bring a kit back and do the job myself.

How long does a clutch change take? I'm reasonably competent. Any special tools required? I'd better get a Haynes I suppose...!

Cheers, Paul.

Better read the Haynes first. It is not too hard a job, but you must remove more components than on an "ordinary" car, so it will take you more time. No special tools are needed except for a ball joint splitter if they will not pop out easily.

The last clutch change I did was on a '68 MGB, and that required the entire engine be removed! I guess this won't be as bad as that. Must find a good workshop manual though.

Thanks for the advice Angel.

Hi.

I am replacing the clutch of my 1987 R4 1100cc, here in Spain. I got the three parts valeo Kit for 75 Euros.
