I think Labours done a little quiet backtracking today on the VED rates

At last someone hit Darling over the head! He's realised that taxing the poor Mr Average car owner over a choice of car he made upto 7 years ago is not a good idea and has backtracked!

Our Kia was going to go up by about half as much again and I dread to think what the poor people who thought they'd save a thousand pounds by buying the petrol version of my car were going to do?

Trouble is I can see us paying for this in other ways for a very very long time to come!

..But I was always looking for a prompt to suggest that Kia had missed a trick in not calling one of their models a Royale!!

Good stuff. While I have no idea why a R4 isn't good enough for everyone (could stuff at least half a dozen kids in the back amongst the sheep). But backdating penalties whatever they are is rude.

I think all they are trying to do is win the next election.

I agree with you Macolm, I heard that for last two elections they have reduced the taxes just before and then put them up again after winning the election.

Oh and whilst I also agree about stuffing 6 or so kids in the back of a 4, according to Ians joke thats not allowed!
