Have just seen this - thought it was worth passing on.

Hi Andy this is the car I've brought very genuine car with many challenges i am a ford enthusiast to the core but my family had r4 from the 60s
My first farm car was a 1970s r4. My first job was to sacrifice one of the wheels to use as donor rim to weld into the other rims as they had rotted from standing. The tyres are scarce but have got some fitted.
today i finished all external welding [nearly used a whole 8X4 sheet of 1mm steel] The engine was the most solid seized engine I've ever had to deal with could not strip as the crank would not turn to get spanners on big ends.
I have managed to get it apart with homemade spanners.I have hopefully sourced parts for a rebuiled. All the brakes need replacing and the body will need paint. I am local to a company who supply and treat car rust[Rustbusters Spalding]
Who have recently undersealed my camper.I can not vouch for them as only time will tell but will approach them for rust prevention solutions to preserve my new metal.I can not explain how much fun i am having bringing a classic back to life .
My plan is to have it in the drive and jump in it and use it all summer as apposed to have to fetch it out of the shed only on high days and holidays.Thank you all who spend time on our behalf.

Hi Charlie
Good to hear that you bought the Facebook car - it looked an interesting project. I didn't realise how big, though - I admire your skills and your courage!
The listing brought back memories: my first R4, bought in 1985, was a 6V 1970 TL; a great car.
Good luck with the restoration!
