Has anyone used lucas heavy oil stabilizer in thier engine or gearbox,if so what did you think of it. I have worn syncros and was thinking of adding it at the next gearbox oil change to see if it helped matters.

Never heard of or used it.
Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is normally used as a gearbox additive, but it is not a miracle additive.
If you allready have worn synchros then a gearbox revision is better.

back in the day it was a matter of locating a fruit/veg-shop and ask if you could have the inner side absorbing-material out of the (then) thin wooden crates grapes came in
what you need is the shock absorbing "mats" inside the crate.
These were made of 1-2mm natural cork sheets. Usually a half of such was enough for this use. You ripped it apart small enough to push it through oil-plug.filled in new oil-
It worked well in quieting the gearbox but should be considered an emergency fix .(Never heard anyone ever emptying it out afterwards tho')-just the remnants when changing
the oil........ -Am I Really (getting) as old as all these old farts that can -and eager to -irritate the socks off you? Oouuuuch! -Reid

Some people even used saw dust as well in the old days ! And mustard powder to seal any holes in your radiator.
