Hello Friends,

Changing the topic slightly, although still mechanical related. My TA cracked a piston so i pulled the motor out and am refurbishing it in my spare time. :p

I have used a special set of con rods Ian picked up for me in france thus meaning i can fit traditional shell type big end bearings (original rods are white metal) and also a set of DS higher compression pistons.

Crankshaft is standard all over so this was polished.

I have also taken a serious amount of weight off the flywheel and balanced the whole assembly including pistons and rods.

Recut the liner seats, faced the block and reset the liner seat heights and reworked the head.

I am now going out in this wonderful summer weather to refit it.

Lovely work! How do you reset the liner seat heights after cutting them?

That is a lot of metal removed from the flywheel - is it a normal mod?
