After a three month summer break i continued from where i left. Shell is now practically rust free

What did you do for the roof gutters? It's a particularly hard place to fix.

When i have needed to repair a gutter i have used a donor piece which goes into the roof about an inch and joggled the edge so that it goes underneath at roof edge and sits correctly,this gives a strong easily welded joint and is easier that rtraying to but weld. I do it this way as it being easy to hide in the roof area than to get a good appearance at the gutter. I did one whole side on a split screen VW once and you could not tell once completed and headlining in.

The roof gutter was not damaged as only underneath it there was rust, so gutter remained untouched, in the last repair above the tailgate hinge i have rot on the gutter(haven't repaired it yet), what i usually do to repair gutters is to use a metal round bar shape/grind as close as possible to the factory shape and hammer sheet metal to give it shape.Hope that makes sense.

Nice progress and workmanship!
From Sweden myself so used to rotten metall due to salted roads and long snowy winters. It seems like Renaults here was given a serious rost protection before they were sold and the owners top it up during lifespan. All my cars seems to survive rot death better than a lot of cars from south Europe. Usually it's the other way around.

Very impressed with your skills and stamina. Would like to see more from how you make the new panels. What tools you are using, how your jigg is bolted to chassis etc etc.
Are you born and raised at Malta or moved there, is there a lot of people renovating on the island or are you fighting alone.
Nice work and keep it up.

Thanks alot for your comments, i dont have much tools just the basics hammer/dolly,a good vice and a self made heavy duty bender on it, a mig welder, dent puller,spot welder and a shrinker/strecher whis i am still learning how to use.
Most of the panels i buy from cipere and demarco parts.
I am Maltese and there are alot of classic car enthusiasts here but the Renault 4 isn't a favourite here.Most have a following on classis Fords like the Escort mk1 and Cortinas. Having said that there is a particular Maltese mechanic that has an impressive collection of classic Renaults.
As regards stamina believe me sometimes i am exhausted/bored its a never ending story of rust repair on and on again but i have been there before so i know/hope i will survive :)
But then again hope is the mother of fools :) Ciao and stay safe

This is what I mean with stamina.
Think more than just me want to see more of the metall shaping. Looking forward to next update
