In 1969, ELPA (Hellenic Club of Automobile and Touring) received the new vehicles for their fleet, and as you can see, they were Land Rovers S II and R4 Fourgonettes! They remained loyal to the Fourgonette, as there were lots of later ones (with the larger aluminum and also plastic grilles) on Greek roads, for as late as the early 90s. Here: http://mam.avarchive.gr/portal/digitalview.jsp?get_ac_id=1321&thid=3654 there are some later ones (1972-judging from the reg number) being inspected by the minister of transportations.
Now Fourgonettes are out of service, but one of them (around 1978 model) has been restored and is on display at the central offices of ELPA.

This is brilliant! What they are talking about? Anyone fancy translating?

How did you come across this?

Well,if you by chance don't speak Greek :-D , here is the translation. The language is an earlier form of "formal" Greek, as spoken in the TV and radio before the 80s.

ELPA, for the forthcoming summer, and for the expected high traffic due to holidays, have been supplied with new mobile workshop vehicles, which will offer their services to drivers having a breakdown at remote places. These road assistance vehicles have anything needed for the "first aid" that can be given to a vehicle. Drivers of these cars are experienced "engine doctors".
With this road assistance vehicle scheme, ELPA now covers all main roads in Greece, and saves the motorist from all unpleasant effects that a breakdown on a remote road may cause.

This site is an archive of a national television's broadcast of the 50s 60s and 70s, a friend of mine found it by luck.
