Black eye

Looks a bit like a road warrior to me!

Show me the pics of the casualities.

Nevertheless, she looks quite driveable, despite the faded paint.

Ian, you must be "home" for Xmas to be with loved ones. I hope that your Xmas was merry!
I must admit that I've been hanging out for more pics from your ingenious new abode.

As an aside, we have had an "assistant" from the area where your new home is located working at my school this year. She did not recognise your town from your photo. Her name was Anne-Claire. She is very polite, but she did mention the "new invasion" of the Brits in the area.
As a further aside, we have had about five of these annual placements to work with our Australian born foreign-language teachers of French in our school. Without exception, all of these young women have been friendly and capable ambassadors of their country.

It must be a great way to see the world, have yourself and your culture respected and get paid for the holiday.

I love the photos of snow covered R4's.

26 degrees tomorrow here,

Going to the cricket on Monday (vs Pakistan who look alright in the bowling)

but two months of fire alertness.

Cheers,

David

Hi Ian, Merry Christmas.

David funnily enough we have a French born language teacher at my wifes local school and guess what, he's a vendeen too!

..Hello David and Hello Pepper..

..And how nice to hear from you both..

Pepper: Whats occurin'? Did you get my email with the big fat cheque and what are you going to spend your million on?

David: Whats occurin' down under? I assume you saw the fact that you are in receipt of a large wadge of dosh from me? What are you going to spend your million on?

How nice to hear you have Anne-Claire in your part of the world - Tell her we live near Mareuil sur Lay and that is where the house is. Where is she from?

A couple of years ago my neighbours had an exchange Aussie student staying with them and he was from near Melbourne. The school exchange was with St Ursule school in Lucon.

You mention 'at my school' - Both Pepper and I will wager that you are not in fact a pupil but the head master - are we correct?

And what about posting some glossy pics of R4 life in Melbourne area - all very interesteing for us 'Old Country' folks.

And to both of you, Happy happy happy 2010

I did remark on the other thread, that my dream would be a Sinpar Renault 4, It would be my dream vehicle (sad I know)

So of course I would buy one of those, get our house finished in France and get the barn converted to a beautiful workshop, where I could maintain my little beauty and keep my bicycles up together.

What are you doing with the rest of the millions you paid yourself?

..I am going to give it all away..

..and I am going to make a nuisance of myself by buying a joke rubber digital camera that squirts water at the people who smile when asked to!!

'at my school'

Dear Ian,

Aah, I see I have chosen my words carelessly. Although I am clearly not a student at the school, neither am I the headmaster!
Despite working there for 22 years, I have a subordinate role as a classroom teacher. This suits me and my family well as I approach full time retirement.
In a strange quirk of my superannuation/pension scheme I retired last year at 55yo, and collect a fortnightly pension for life. However the school can choose to employ me on a yearly contract for as long as they see fit,-obviously not forever!
For the moment it's a win situation although my time spent on all things Renault is constrained.
Photos will follow in 2010. Not lots, as progress will be partly dependent on imported bits!

All the best to all the forum members for a happy and safe second decade of the third millenium!

David
