Thermostat

Hi All

I'm looking for a new thermostat in the photo attached. It is proving hard to find. There are plenty of the later ones online as fitted to the R4 gtls. The ones with the longer elongated probe end. Some of the listings mention that they are compatible with the earlier R4s and a replacement for them. I'm wondering if this info is correct.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

What's the opening temperature on yours? I've got similar ones with an 88° rating.

Thanks for getting back to me. The opening temperature of the one in the car is 73 degrees. I don't know if it is the correct one. It is seized up anyway. There is another one in a box of bits I got with the car which has an opening temperature of 83 degrees. I would be happy to fit whatever the UK spec was. I would be interested to know if the later thermostats can be fitted to the earlier R4 s if you happen to know.

Any info would be gratefully received.

All thermostats are interchangeable.
UK spec cars were fitted with an 83 deg. C thermostat.
