This 839 cc comes from a strange German law that measures cubic capacity for tax reasons using a different formula than the known engine volume one!!! (has nothing to do with engine type 839, coincidentally R4 782cc). Therefore 845cc engine is taxed as 839cc. I don't know how it is calculated but it is interesting, 1108cc is 1100cc, R5 1397 is 1387 and 1289 is 1280cc. It would be interesting if anyone knew how it is calculated.
