Where does this bit go ?!!

Hmm thanks Paul will look again but the little barb is between the two parts of the clip attached to the bowl

Hmm here are some more photos of that detail.

Its not a slot - thats the problem - If It were I can see it working.
Does a locking tab push in over the top of the lamp fitting and locate in the clip I wonder?

One end is held in with spring clip are you sure you've not mounted headlamp bowl 180 out
Nothing here for me to take photo of but there must be some pic on petak thread if you've got enough time spare to find amongst the thousands posted there ☺

The spring is like a mousetrap spring View attachment 16370
Yes yes yes! Just worked it out then found your posting. You're right Paul 180 deg out. Oddly my lamps must have been incorrectly mounted as the original lamps have the slot you mention but it's far too narrow for the peg. I'll file the slot wider and all will be resolved. Thanks again Paul :clapping:

I am little late but all the same have something for you :D

As you can see headlight is held in housing with spring and clip.

First (move no 1. on picture). catch pins to spring, and just pop slot (move no2. on picture) to spring clip.

Petak
I just knew you would have a pic ☺

You must be missing the load adjustment lever as otherwise you would realise the 180 difference
There is s plastic sliding wedge attached to it which the height adjuster screw rests on
You may have to improvise to get headlamps high enough for mot test if no other parts available
I have fitted longer screws because you won't be able to fit lever with your retro grille ☺
