Which fuel pump?

Hey there Renault Ranchers, I hope y'all are doing well.
I have been driving my R 4 as a daily for about 9 months now. I still have a couple of little problems. One of them is that whenever I decelerate strongly, like when on the off ramp of a highway, the car dies. If I try to restart it with the key it will have to crank a little while until it will start but if I bump start it, it usually spring's right back to life. Since the fuel line comes from in front of the carburetor and this phenomenon only happens if I decelerate, I suspect it's a fuel issue and I also feel like I'm missing a little punch, so I suspect that the previous owner, who had changed the fuel pump, chose the wrong one.
On various websites there's Pumps available that look identical but might not be.
I have an R1223 with a 850 cc B1B engine how ever I do have a later model year, where they used the larger carburetor of the 1100cc engines, so it came to me that my problem might be a fuel pump that is for this engine but with the smaller carburetor.
However I'm still lacking experience. Do the different fuel pumps even pump different amounts of fuel?
Does any of what I say make sense?
Thank you in advance.

To me, your problem seems more related to fuel level being too low, than incorrect fuel pump operation. Little can go wrong with a mechanical fuel pump, and it will fail completely rather than operate incorrectly. Also, fuel pressure and delivery rate on a carburetted car is not as critical as on a fuel injected one - as long as the pump can deliver the (very small) amount of fuel to keep the correct level in the carburettor bowl.
Check the float level as per the manual, and try to increase it some 0,5-1mm by tightening the float valve to compress its sealing ring, and see what happens.
