Poor Mike obviously been working to hard, shame we could'nt make it but as you know my eldest just got marrried so to much all at once BUT we will be there next year (if it's on) good luck everyone and have a brilliant time.
Well I got as far as the M25 before the Head Gasket blew is spectacular fashion (The thermostat had exploded on the motorway it turns out)
Got home, replaced headgasket and head and ended up at Thenay a day late.
Unfortunately the front suspension seems to have gone all odd now as I had to pull the tracking right in to make it drivable (thinking front wheel bearing)
Fun weekend but not as fun as it could have been !
Hi All,
Here are a few photos from Saturday at Thenay. It was very hot! Think we were in the high hundreds as far as cars were concerned but I am sure the Cornish Dazzleur will have more info. Will post Sundays photos later.
We are still on our French road trip, caught the Tour de France today, and heading north tomorrow and then home on Wednesday. Would guesstimate about 800-900 cars at Thenay, a great weekend, will post some picks when I get home. The Dazzleur.
Here are some pictures from Sunday. Appologies for the quality but we had a very pleasant couple of bottles of local rose for lunch! Poor Andys' red car- I'm amazed it made it home as it was loaded to the gunnels with some very dodgy-looking geezers. Next event in 2 years time so no excuses. Right, off to think about my liquid refreshment for Lords on Saturday.
I was actually kinda hoping that they wouldn't hold it next year and do it in 2015 instead. Why? Well, I'm having what many people consider to be a significant birthday that starts with a 4 in 2015 and I had rather thought that it might be nice to abandon the kids with the grandparents and Mrs Lobster and I might go to Thenay and take in a few château at the same time.
Hi Andrea, sorry we didn't get meet up this time, hmm 3000 kms beats our trip I have to say. The 4L is a truly great car, and we all need to keep spreading the word about it. Whether its an unloved everyday workhorse or a much pampered show car, and all the others in between, long live the "blue jeans" car
