4L International 2019.

I stick to smaller, local roads. It might take a bit longer but its more enjoyable and fun! That and R4s aren't ideal motorway vehicles.

2021 is the R4s 60th anniversary which should make for a big event, make a week or two of a holiday driving from Croatia to Thenay, it'd be ace!

A superb weekend away as always ... great weather, great cars and a great Saturday evening despite knocking over some beer bottles  . It was great seeing everyone who turned up especially considering 60-75mph down the auto-routes in the heat in a 4 is a commitment and a half.

Now just the long wait till 2021 ...

My thinking is the same. Local roads and easy going.
Now I have two years to organize myself to be there at 60th anniversary

Fantastic!

I still dream I'll be there once
Are you driving on motorways or local roads on the way to Thenay and back?
Let's go together along with the Katrica klub of Slovenia next time! Check out their itinerary and route on the website. And thanks to the Mlinar boys, of course! :)

I was thinking about that. Aldo they are driving on motorway for most of time.

There are possible 3 or 4 attendants from Croatia also, but need to encourage them little bit :D

It was great meeting you guys! We had a blast and will surely be back in 2021! We did nearly all of the driving in Germany on the highways, going 90-110 with the 845, and actually drove from Luxembourg to Denmark in one go (round 1000km all in all). Only stop was at the Nürburgring to eat supper, other that the occasional fill-up with fuel of course. The little R4 (Fidél) went real well, even at 40 km/h in 2. up some German mountains.
Only problems: High pressure in the fuel pipes leading to the carb and a few overheating sessions. Nothing to worry about! :D
3300 km was the end mileage, going 17 km/l, using no oil, and still with 1,9 bar in all tires when I came back.

Btw; in 2021 I hopefully also have a PhD degree to celebrate, so I'll actually have proper time to see France a bit more on the way!

I've been home a few days, and I've got withdrawal symptoms following my three and a bit weeks in France, so just testing some rather fine pate, and checking out some red runny stuff. Lovely.
4L International was as enjoyable as ever, and it was great to catch up with old friends and new ones too. Nice to meet up with Simon and Viv Knight, Sprackers, and Niels and his co pilot Simon. It's always good to put faces to names. Not a bad turn out of British cars, and it was nice of our hosts to acknowledge that we had made the effort to be there, or are they just feeling sorry for us over Brexit? Joking aside, well done to Jnr Renospeed for getting his award for his beautiful car. Here's to next time, only two years to wait.
The last picture, harbourseal somewhere in deepest darkest France.20190720_151743.jpg20190720_184804.jpg20190721_141257.jpg20190721_144431.jpg20190721_151255.jpg20190721_154542.jpg20190721_154810.jpg20190721_154850.jpg20190721_154906_Burst01.jpg20190721_155236.jpg

103 weeks, Brian.

But yes, good to see familiar faces and meet new ones and looking forward to 2021 already :)

What a Blast. Great to finally meet fellow crazies, Cornish Simon and all the others I forgot names to Bloody sparkling wine. mr & mrs Reno. Left at 5am Sunday to get ferry from Dieppe. That was really tough.
Next time leaving a day early and returning a day later.
Bloody marvellous.
