Hello everyone..

The dream came truth.. And I have my R4L.



The name of the project it will be "Maria Canela", in English, "Marie Cinnamon"

The next day i will clear all the interior and the motor, make a full inspection and start the list of thinks to start.

1st checks

Water pump needs a change..






The chauffage radiator have a bypass



Anyone knows if this headrest is original.. I need one to the driver seat.



Ans this stick.. Means anything? Have the same colors in the seats

Headrest looks like ours from a Slovenian-built 1990 GTL.

Note that the distance between the 'prongs' or 'legs' (and their diameter) might be different to the 'soft' type.

Good tip, thanks!! I take a look from another 4L from 1991 and they have the same headrest..Now i need find one to buy. T

Let's start the work..

Water pump out.. Inside looks good but looking for the exterior it has some leak.

The water lines of the head, don't have any corrosion..

The belt tensor needs some clean and new color..




Because of the bypass on the water pump for the The chauffage radiator, I take it off for test.

The new water pump don't bring the new bolts, and for the 2 of the top i just have biggest Than the original. For the other i bought a new ones.




Now is missing the Roler..

Is that new heater matrix? Or just good cleaned old one?

There's a Slovenian lead here (not sure about quality). Cheaper if buying from the EU!

Was searching thru ebay but could not find any. Obviously did not used right words.

Good news.. The motor sounds good without overheating.. The fan starts working exactly as expected 92 Celsius degrees.

The auxiliar temperature gauge is installed but but the spot is temporarily.



The air filter box is original from plastic but will change to metal.

I can't find anywhere the headrest

Oil and filter changed.. I didn't put the liquimoly additive, i will wait for the next service.

The old oil have only 1000km but the last service was in 2017.

The motor sounds much quite with this oil



Anyone can help me.. How i fix this on the window? The passenger window have an hole, but the others not

you need to use special adhesive. Same kind you use for rear view mirror.
