Hi all. there is a derelict '71 R4 near our place in France. Its tucked away bothering no one so a good chance its still there when I get back over.
It has an immaculate radiator, which I want. The car is upright, without wheels or back suspension. There is a chunk of log under it.
Can I take out the radiator from above, or do you have to get at those two bolts from underneath ? I couldn't get my fingers at them last time, but that may be just me. Any suggestions most welcome. Will look for other bits as well. Thank you.

I got caught out by this, years ago, when replacing a leaking radiator. The Haynes manual didn't mention anything about bolts underneath the radiator, so I drained the system, removed the pipes and supports only to find the radiator still wouldn't budge. Then I found that the bolts underneath required extra long sockets (requiring a long journey to buy them). Then I found the bolts were seized so had to call a mobile mechanic!

So the lesson for me was to ensure you can undo all the bolts before draining the system (and don't rely on Haynes!).
