A bit of an update.
I did my first highway run today.
All went quite well until I eased off the throttle.
I heard a whining noise coming from the gearbox.
Upon pressing in the clutch the whining stopped.
It was only in third and fourth gear.
I turned of the highway and returned home at a slower pace.
Thinking of all the worst scenarios.
Taking the engine and gearbox out again, where will I find a good GTL gearbox?
At the workshop I opened up the filler hole on the gearbox.
It turned out that the oil wasn’t there.
I had not filled up the gearbox. What a beginner’s mistake
How on earth could I forget to fill the gearbox?
After filling her up I went on another test run and the whining was gone.
Lets hope that there isn’t any permanent damage.
On the other hand it says something about the quality of these gearboxes.
You can almost run them dry and possibly nothing happens.
